I always wanted to do a piece like this. No one inspired me to do this piece. I like how it came out. I did this piece because i think it's cool and no one would probably do this.

I always liked this quote. I didn't want to make a boring card so i tried to make this card not look boring. I like how it came out.
I have seen this before and i wanted to try it but it seemed hard so i never did it. For this i used pencil and sharpie. There were some spots where they needed to be dark but sharpie doesnt blend, so i went over the sharpie with pencil to make it a little lighter and it helped. I think my artwork could have been better but i didn't know how to add as much detail as the real thing. I think in the future that i would do more art pieces like this. This art piece took time. I had to keep adding more detail to make it look like the real thing.
I wanted to try something i never tried before. I used a milk jug, wire, felt, glue stick, and sharpie. When i was almost done with it, it started to look ugly so i changed it at the end. I still don't really like it but it's too late to change it now. I wouldn't do this art piece again. I thought it would come out how i saw it online but it looked way different. As an artist i developed skills i had never used something like a bottle to turn it into something else or used wire with it . When i first started i had no idea what to make so i just went with it and just started building it up. I feel like if i did another art work with wire or bottles or anything recycled i would be better at it. For this project, i did learn new techniques. I remember i did batiking in 5th grade but i wasnt good at all then. I learned how to actually batik and add color and lines to it. When i was batiking, i messed up a little. The color would spread and it didnt look right. So i just went over with water where the color had spreaded to where it shouldnt be. Then some color came off. I did not come up with my own idea. I like this artwork but in the future i wont do things like this because its not what i would do. I stepped back and analyzed my work after i had put color on it. I did pick new materials and i did use a new technique.
For this art, i put together alot of different creepy sketches of sponge bob. I used clay for my art. I wanted to try clay. Im not really good at using clay but i wanted to try and see if i could make something. As an artist i observed different pictures of spongebob to get an idea of what i wanted to do with my art work but using clay. For this project i learned that it was kind of hard. Some things messed up so i had to fix them. The final peice wasnt what i imagined. I dont think this peice will influence anyone. Artist Statement
Artist: Cayla Reid I just wanted to make a sketching. I used pencil only. I looked at the sketch i wanted to sketch. I just chose something random to sketch. I have done this sketch before but it didn't look good so i wanted to try it again. My goals are to just get better in sketching. I think maybe this piece did help me reach my goal because usually i wouldn't take this long on a sketch but i did this time because it was a project. I think that this is the final piece i imagined. In creating this artwork i learned that i can do pieces like this. I tried to show realism in this art piece. First i drew the outline, then i began shading. I went back and added the details. In creating this art work, i learned that i can do more pieces like this and add more detail to make it look more realistic. |
